Person Y responds, "but you are leaving out a very broad scope of music that hundreds of thousands of people enjoy and which they accept as folk music". Person X rejoins with "they may enjoy it, and I may even grant that some of it is enjoyable to listen to, but it is not folk as defined by the Whitsun Convention of 1892, which governs what folk music is and is not, forever and ever, life everlasting". Person Y: "yeah, but...". Person X: "no, nay, never...". And around and around it goes.
