Derek Warfield, the wit and the sage of the "Wolfe Tones" has just released his contribution to the musical history of the American Civil War - "Sons of Erin: Irish Songs, Ballads and Music of the American Civil War" and a companion book titled "Irish Songster of the American Civil War." The book contains the lyrics of 46 songs with extensive historical commentary on each one.
