Rowan, thanks for the indigenous(?) name. I'd read it somewhere before, but couldn't remember it.

Years ago, I wrote an op/ed piece supporting a Native American initiative to get Devil's Tower renamed "Mateo Tepee" meaning Grizzly Bear Lodge which is what they have always known it as. It shows up that way on maps as far back as 1816. "Devil's Tower" is offensive to them.
