So here's Friday: the federal and Arlington county governments have reopened, schools and such remain closed, and the public transit system is still only partially functional (limited bus service; subway only to underground and a limited number of outdoor stations). My Metro stop is above ground and shut, and I'm telecommuting.

And here's a wish for the able-bodied neighbors who haven't bothered to shovel their sidewalks: may the melting snow flow merrily into your basements!
