Actually gnu, that's just a variant on "Guts" which is an actual game in team disc competition.

That's one of the names some of the kids called it back when I was a little guy, before we heard of the commercial Frisbee and played with 30 inch galvanized tin trash can lids.

My mom just called it "stupid" (especially after one of the boys missed a critically aligned catch and need some homemade medical attention); but we had fun with it.
