I had to go to Arlington today - I could see the aftermath of DC's "Snowmaggeddon". Incredible - I saw cars still buried up to their roofs and in some cases you could only see the very tops of the parking meters! Traffic was a mess and heading back to Richmond we got on Route 1 and it was paralyzed, so we decided to try some side streets. Well those side streets were still snow covered - DEEP snow covered. A truck ahead of us got stuck and it took around 20 minutes and three people pushing (being all dressed up for a business meeting we couldn't help) to get it going and unblock the street. Richmond's snow was pretty tame in comparison, although of course it still brought everything to a screeching halt and decimated the grocery store shelves.
