Military spending rescued Germany's economy in the 30s. If the only way to get spending inside the USA on the right track is to spend money on military matters, then that's an egg that has to be broken, whither or not it involves borrowing. I thought, after the recent fuckup, that people had finally realised that Keynes was right all along. I'd rather the spending was on something else - but that would no doubt get filibustered by the anthill kings of destruction, the dogs in mangers, the wholly solipsist US looney right republicans (with God on their side.
