Alan my old friend, I am so very happy that you and your family came away in reasonably good shape. It obviously could have been really bad.

As I write this Karen has been gone only a few minutes on her usual 45 mile trip to work each night and as usual I worry til she arrives there and then repeat in the morning. Tonight the entire area has gotten another 8 inches of snow on top of the 18 previously on the ground making this one of those nail biter nights. Family is all their is and I can easily appreciate how you feel tonight.

The world was so much simpler when we were younger and single and unaware of the mortality of others or our own. Give both of them a hug for me.....softly of course.....then one for yourself as well.
