Don lived in Sussex for a while about 35-40 years ago and used to come up to our club at the Lewes Arms on Saturday nights. One evening, he came and sang "Put A Light In Every Country Window" and the guest singer that week was Martyn Wyndham-Read. Martyn loved the song and got the words from Don then and there. Martyn sang the song extensively at his gigs for quite a while after that and it certainly contributed to getting Don's name better known in the UK.
Just for a bit of continuity.... Martyn was our folk club guest again just last week.....
