Gordon Lightfoot: 1938-2010

Ontario-born folk music legend Gordon Lightfoot passed away Wednesday night, fellow musician and friend Ronnie Hawkins confirmed today.

Famous for timeless folk hits, including If You Could Read My Mind, Sundown and Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Lightfoot is credited with influencing the careers Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and countless other contemporaries.

Lightfoot was in the midst of a North American tour and was scheduled to play dates in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Quebec in the coming months.
