I knew it was a translation of the Dylan song. Was it not also Fairport Convention's first hit? I have a vague recollection of seeing them doing it on TV and wondering why they were singing the song (which I had heard by Manfred Mann) in French. It is charming, but it struck me as distinctly odd at the time. (I must have been in my early teens).
