Obviously "de gustibus..."   And this may be beautiful guitar work. But in my opinion, it's not good music.

I'm with PoppaGator.   It seems nothing short of sacrilege to chop up the rhythm--and seemingly attempt to "jazz up" the piece. Not to put a too fine a point on it, I found it unlistenable.

I am a rock-hard-core classical fan. I play it and sing it--all the time. And I don't want it watered down to Windham Hills aural wallpaper.

My view is: if you don't do it straight, try Barry Manilow instead.   His creations won't suffer.
