I'm trying to find out something about this song - not to be confused with the song The ROSE of No Man' Land which was by Jack Caddigan and James Alexander Brennan.

I've googled without success and, while I know I have a couple of versions at home I can't get at them for the next few days and want to info NOW! I've got the tune running through my head and really want to learn the words and to know who wrote such a wonderful song.
