Somehow, I gather it is not "College Blues", but "Womon Blues". Meebs, my son, you just gotta play the Blues til you get to feelin' better, cause you can't play the blues and stay sad. When you get to feelin' better try "Whiskey Before Breakfast" or "Blackberry Blossoms" on the fiddle. I can't count the times I have sat on the patio playing the "Blooz", and all the sad songs I know, until I just couldn't stand it anymore, and had to play "Whiskey Before...." ( and I call him EmBo, MeeBo, Meebs, Me'bro, M'Bro, and MattyBumpo......I don't think he cares what we call him, as long as we CARE......) Hang in there, Matt honey. It will get better, and you will survive. (NO "Survivor" jokes here, please--was bad enuf in the original)

"John Henry" is a good 'un too. Just feels good to play and sing. Or try some real hard core Gospel--"I Saw the Light", "Keep On the Sunny Side" etc.

If none of that works, try some of the Blues Gospel, like the Doc did--"Faithful Soldier", "I Am A Pilgrim",

If all else fails, just try banging the hell out of the guitar with discordant stuff,while you make up lyrics as you go.
