Subject: RE: Ukulele Clubs
I am a proud member of the La Veta, (Colorado) Ukulele Orchestra, which boasts over a hundred members, (though we can seldom collect more than twenty or thirty at a time). My daughter and son-in-law Annie and David, started the LVUO a couple of years ago, and we've marched twice now in the local Fourth of July Parade. What fun.

More interestingly, a few months ago David and Annie were contacted by the school in Crestone, CO. (Tiny school, probably <50 students).    They requested an intro level class presentation with the option of purchasing ukes if any were interested. I wasn't able to go, but it was a grand success, with many of the kids and staff purchasing ukes. The kids have been practicing. In fact, they start each school day with 15 minutes of ukulele practice! What a cool thing!

Well, somebody up in Denver got wind of it, and now the kids are scheduled to perform in Denver at two or three functions involving the Governor, legislators, and the Arts Council. Maybe I can get Annie to post some more details.

Long Live The Ukulele!!!

Thanks, BlueJay
