Thread Name: Lyr Req: Chickery Chick (S Dee, S Lippman)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Chickery Chick
My mom used to sing "Hi Lily, Hi Lily, Hi Low" to me when I was a child. I have searched the internet to find the lyrics to no avail, but, I can tell you what I remember. They are:

On every tree there sits a bird,
singing a song of love.
On every tree there sits a bird,
and everyone I've ever heard.
Could break your heart without a word,
singing a song of love.

A song of love is a sad song,
hi lily, hi lily, hi low.
A song of love is a song of woe,
don't ask me how I know.

A song of love is a sad song,
for I have loved and it's so.
Hi lily, hi lily, hi,low, hi low,
hi lily, hi lily, hi low.
Hi lily, hi lily, hi low, hi low,
hi lily, hi lily, hi low.

I sit by the window and watch the rain,
hi lily, hi lily, hi low.
Tomorrow I'll probably love again.
Hi lily, hi lily, hi low.

If you ever have a chance to rent this move, you should see it. It's delightful and sad and beautifully done.
