Aye, poor skunk, woken up before 7am after a night chasing the elusive ladies..

Commisserations, Tami, some get the stink, others get the noise. I had to send Milloup away on holidays two days ago, we have THREE bitches in high season in the near vicinity, and he was going out of his mind. Wouldn't eat, couldn't sleep, wandered around restlessly whinging all the time (driving ME nuts, too). Anytime I'd get up, he'd be right at my heels hoping for an outing to look for damsels in distress. Numerous times I had to go and stop him from howling and barking at the window when one of the desirables was outside. I felt like a bitch shouting 'shut up!' at frequent intervals..

Monday night, when I went dancing, I came home at 10.30pm and could hear him howling and barking in the flat as soon as I opened the door downstairs. I sincerely hope he hadn't been keeping the whole building entertained for the entire time I was out.

How do you communicate to a dachshund, that at 14½ a bit of decorum wouldn't go amiss and that chasing ladies isn't good for him, anyway?

He'll be home on Sunday, I miss the auld beggar.
