Thread Name: Positive songs for Mbo
Subject: RE: Positive songs for Mbo
"What A Wonderful World" - In Satchmo's best honey-growl
"Georgy Girl" - one of my total favorites. It was my theme song in high school, back when I was a mousy, quiet brainiac with no friends. A lot can happen in 5 years, eh?
"The 59th Street Bridge Song" - or anything else by Simon & Garfunkel
"Running from the Shadows (Cast by the Light of Love)" - one of my mother's best. Also the "Moon Trilogy" Also... I like her stuff, ok?
"Porgy and Bess Suite" - played by the Boss Brass.
"Contrapunctus 1" - JS Bach, performed by the Canadian Brass. Never fails to calm me when I'm hectic... Also the lovely horn solo "Cor Royale"
Oh, am I supposed to stick to songs?
"The Power of Love"
Anything by the Beatles. Favorites are When I'm 64, With A Little Help From My Friends, I want to hold your hand.
"San Francisco" - Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair...
"Dancin' in the street" - Yeah!
Barbara's Chakra Dance - music is Yulduz Usmanova, I think. Can't quite read the hen-scratch notes for this dance, don't know the title. (Circle dances tend to go by the title of the dance.) This music is fantastic!!!!
"Tower of Strength" - I think it's by a band called the Mission, but I lost the track notes my friend gave me along with the mix tape.
The Native songs George brought in to Song Circle. Those were really magical.
All Sophy's celtic ballads.
If I want to be miserable and enjoy myself with it, "The Highwayman" performed by Loreena McKennitt. I never fail to cry.
"The House of the Rising Sun" - If I need to really wail, this is the perfect song for it.
"Solitaire" - Deep Purple. Also, "Anya"
Oh, a few more more, even though they're instrumental:
"Saltarello" by Dead Can Dance.
"Savage" - flamenco guitar and cuban? drumming. By Daniel Cox, on mp3.com.
I have a lot of favorites.
Anything done by Enya. Ever. Favorite one is "Lothlorien" on the Shepherd Moons album.
I could keep going...

D'ya feel any better now, Mbo?
