Say Midchuck, despite the way it's spelled, Bangor is pronounced BanGORE (but they'll probably vote for Bush up there). And if we were to have a Mudcat gathering in Bangor, it just wouldn't work. I might go from California, but it would be too far for all the people in Bath.

I once went from California to a party in Sedgwick Maine. I had to make turns on two unmarked dirt roads, but I found the place just fine. On the way, I passed two guys who were pulled off the road, talking on a cell phone. I had a hunch who they were, and I was right - they were going to the same party, but they came from Little Deer Isle, five miles away. They got lost, and were calling for directions.

Come to think of it, maybe it would be fun to have a Mudcat gathering in Maine. Not in Bangor, though.
