There seems to have occurred a PC change of stereotyping: in the old days, Yorkshiremen were regarded as hard-headed & obstinate, but NOT financially stingy, as now seems to be the case on this thread ~~ it was the Scots & the JEWS, not the Scots & the Yorkies, who were supposed to fit those stereotypes in jokes.

Is it terror of accusations of antisemitism that has led to this development; or what?
