Thread Name: Kendall's TV shows on MPBN
Subject: RE: Kendall's TV shows on MPBN
another reply from Maine Public Broadcasting network..

Laurel,

Thanks for your interest in the classic MPBN program, "In The Kitchen". We are in the process of going through our video library and digitizing as much as we can so that we may not only publish it to our new online video player ( http://video.mpbn.net ), but to possibly make programs available to purchase and to migrate our library to a safe, more useful medium. "In The Kitchen" is definitely one of the programs that we want to showcase along with several other wonderful Maine humor programs. In fact, when you visit the online video player I invite you to search for "Downeast Smile-In" with Marshall Dodge. Also, Kendall is featured in the celebrity episode of "So You Think You Know Maine", also available for viewing at our site. We have found some other gems in the vault and want to share them with the world.
However, most of the surviving "In The Kitchen" episodes are stored at Northeast Historic Films in Bucksport. While MPBN does retain the rights to the programs, we have to pay a fee for labor to have programs transferred to a current medium. As budgets are tight we have chosen to focus on what is on hand in our library.
I would be very interested in talking with you about what MPBN could do in regards to working with Kendall. While I'll be away for a couple of weeks, feel free to respond and I'll try and communicate with you when I return.

Thanks,
Nick

I also called the NE Historic Film (at the Alamo Theatre--
do you know it?)"old film" and left a message with Jane Donnell,
who is the Distribution Manager. I also e-mailed her to find out
what the procedure is to digitize the footage, or release it to
MPBN for distribution. I will let you know what i find...and if
we can assist in the process. I will post the results here...
