I have such fond memories of Fred from when I was a teenager in Bristol in the late '60s. Not only a very funny man, but very encouraging as well, and a fine singer of traditional songs when he'd a mind to do so. Anyone remember the song of his which included something about printing "the Bristol Post in Welsh to make things clearer"? Can't remember what it was, but it always made me laugh. So sad that he's gone.
