Right, so if I use a credit card to buy a $300 item, the store pays $6 to the credit card company. If I use my pin-number debit card, which is not associated with any credit card company, they pay 10 cents to the bank. That's why they prefer it if I use my debit card, but they'll gladly settle for either to get the sale.
