Thread drift... re getting a pick out of a guitar or...

In August 2007, Beer (Adrien) stopped over at my place whilst on vacation and played my Seagull, which had gathered dust for some three years (wrist injury) and was in still in perfect tune. A while later, I picked it up to try to play a wee bit. Odd noise. After several shakes, out fell the moisture absorbing silica packet which had been inside that guitar since the day I had bought it about five years before. I had a good laugh over that!
