Some of you will already have heard of this amazingly talented young man (he was runner up in the 2008 Young Folk Awards) Anyone who attended the Bellowhead New Year's Eve Party at the South Bank will have seen him playing with Eliza Carthy's Abba tribute ceilidh band. He is just beginning a mini tour (in 2 sections) as Dogan Mehmet and The Deerhunters trio.

The trio are Dogan Mehmet, Matt Quinn (also part of the NYE Abba ceilidh) & Tom Redman. They're from E.Sussex but are currently doing the folk degree in Newcastle. They are all multi instrumentalists and singers and create a diverse mixture of Anglo-Turkish, Gypsy-Punk and strong acoustic grooves.

Gigs include, Leicester (tonight) / Southwell,Notts./ Cheltenham / Dorking / Bristol / Guildford / London E8 Turkish night with the full Deerhunters band / Sheffield / Huddersfield / Lewes Saturday Folk Club/ Birmingham & Bridport. The full band will also be part of the Folk Against Fascism Village Fete at London's South Bank on 2nd May
