This may be the first time in recorded history that whelks and civility have been mentioned in the same breath.

Now look, everyone knows that Spaw is an unmitigated foul-mouthed sonuvabitch. That's how he rolls, how he was drawn, why we love him. That he ALSO has a big mouth, a big heart, a grat facility of gutter language, and a remarkable well of philosophic erudition behind that greaseball disguise is beside the point.

So if this Elder Icon of the Tribe has seen fit to send an abusive message to Lonesome, before we all jump on the bandwagon to drink the koolaid and excoriate Spaw, should we ask, just out of fairness and all, what it is that Lonesome has done to deserve such abuse? Was he dressing provocatively? Did he moon Spaw? Subscribe to a Republican mailing list? What?

The sooner both of them confess fully, the sooner this whole thing will blow...um....pass over.
