Waterford Seafaring Festival of Music and Song will take place from the 28th to 30th May 2010. Countries include: Denmark, England, France, Germany, Holland, Norway and Wales. Groups from Ireland will also perform music, song and dance celebrating our maritime heritage. Most groups have from four to eight members; some groups from Norway and Denmark are choir-sized. Waterford has always been noted in Ireland for rousing music and song. Now an exciting and attractive Festival is being organised for May 2010, celebrating the beautiful Waterford City quays as a Maritime Hub during the many years of sailing ships. This festival will fill our bars and venues with live, vibrant and exciting performances of music and songs of the sea and place Waterford firmly on the circuit of European Maritime Festivals. The City Pipe and drum and brass bands and the Waterford Male voice choir as well...a whole weekend of song, music and colour....with the possibility of many more exciting events. VENUES • Hotels • Quayside bars and taverns • Street Performances • More than 100 performances will take place during the weekend. • Entrance to performances will generally be free of charge
