Dorothy Shay, "The Park Avenue Hillbillie" as she billed herself.

A nightclub act never to be forgotten. She had a lot of fun with uptown treatments of lowdown hillbilly subject matter, especially her trademark "The Martins and the Coys," and enough other material like "Feudin' and Fightin' to fill a couple of 78 rpm albums. She flourished in New York in the 1940s, as a sophisticated pop backslap at the rural folkies then rising to prominence. The supper club crowd loved her.

Last I looked you could still find her stuff on CD. And it is entertainin'.
