The incident was reported in the UK news media, but didn't seem to get a high profile. I think this may partly have been because there was an absence of hard facts or dramatic pictures. There are only so many ways you can say "We don't really know what happened"

Also, although we were involved in the Korean war, it never seems to have held a big place in the public conciousness. I'm unsure why that should be so. BBC story here
