I think I've heard what you're referring to, but as I recall, it's not a whole different verse, but just a variant ending to the first verse. Instead of the lines,

"The police at the port of entry say, You're number fourteen thousand for today"

He has Governor Merriam saying something--darned if I can remember what it is, though. I'll check my CD's, books, whatever I can find and see what I can come up with.
