Les
you've really stirred up memories for me. As a student in Birmingham from 64 to 67 I used to go to Ian Campbell's Jug of Punch folk club in The Crown. That's where I saw Paul Simon for the first time. That's also where I became hooked on folk music , having had my appetite whetted by occasional visits to The Bluebell whilst in the 6th form at Malet Lambert in Hull. I never made it to The Rugby. Having spent most of the 70s listening to jazz with the occasional folk club visit thrown in ,it wasn't till the last couple of years of the 70s that I began performing folk and then becoming a regular at Nellies in Beverley.
