Gus Cannon was "rediscovered" (always disliked that term) and had a resurgence of interest in him during the 60s. He came to Chicago and played at a club on Sedgwick St called OLD TOWN NORTH. Ray Tate, the head of the Old Town School of Folk Music then, backed him up on guitar. 'Twas a mismatch, but sure was great to see Gus in person.
