I did let the ten minute medley download last night.

Paul, thanks again. It's interesting to see, nearly 30 years on, how I chose to deal with the strangely loud crowd at the Exit that night.

I started with the all-purpose Guabi Guabi -- fun picking and the rather nonsensical lyric--the way I sang it anyhow. The talkers slowed down trying to hear what the hell I was saying; also a few tossed in "pun-liners" got a few more people listening. This was another era of hard times, 1982, so next I put in the great song from the last depression, We've Got Franklin D. Roosevelt Back Again. It was perfect for those times just like it'd be appropriate for our depression now---and it's a good one to sing along with. I think next I went into the instrumental of the Russian song Meadowlands which grabs folks real well. (I worked that out from Frank Hamilton and Pete Seeger's collaboration LP album on Folkways called NONESUCH.

By then folks were with me, so I knew I could get people to pretty much really listen to and hear Tom Dundee's great song --- A Delicate Balance. --- I do hope all of Paul Goelz's tech work on this will allow you to hear Tom's wondrous poetic lyric.

It's good to see that, even though this medley was on the fly and off the top o' my head, it went down just about the way I wanted it to happen. I hardly ever planned sets. And most times I never did a song the same way twice. Maybe that's why I was always a solo! (And I never had to share the pay ;-)--- Good bottom line--actually and monetarily...

This is fun!!
