Must admit, suffering as I do from from single male syndrome (dust and cobwebs tend to be invisible), I could probably benefit from the attentions of a good cleaning lady. But most of the time, the bits that need cleaning - furniture tops, carpet, in fact just about any horizontal surface - are barely visible, let alone accessable. De-cluttering so as to make cleaning a realistic exercise, just ain't worth the bother.

What I aim to do though, being a passable cook or so my friends tell me, is give a dinner party every month or so. At least it motivates me to get the place looking half civilised....
