Subject: RE: BS: Dick Miles and the Grand National
ALAN, I have just stated what my losses were on the grand national [half my stake] the funny thing is that people who drink alcohol, dont calculate their losses when they piss it down the drain half an hour later, like wise cigarette smokers dont sit down and calculate how many five pound notes they burn. whereas i do calculate my losses.,which is why I never spend more than i can afford to lose, not really any diferent from someone who goes into a pub and buys a pint. when i am away gigging,as I will be next week[Croydon april 12,Darlington april 13,Maidenhead APRIL15],I often have an hour or two to kill,Inever stop in a pub to pass the time, whereas if i stop in a bookies i remain sober,i might lose a small amount of money but on occasions I win too,but I am in the dry and the warm, and remain ingood fettle to do my evening gig. being on the road means a lot of hanging about[libraries are not always open or available]being on the road is about surviving ,Ihave been doing that for 35 YEARS
