Well I've trained racing greyhounds to run at tracks all over Scotland and I can tell you Alan is right, the gambling game is bent double.
Dogs and horses are "stopped" more often than not.

I've won thousands on one race, lost too, but never too much.
and I've seen people wrecked by the "bug"

I would never go into a bookies shop, the vultures prey on the poor sods who dont have a life and most of the cheating has a bookie behind it

Totaliser betting is much "cleaner", not so open to abuse...so I would ban private bookmakers.

It would amaze you what some people will do to proud,beautiful animals just to make a few pounds...   :0(
