Opera 10 has bookmarks...you just didn't find them in the newly designed menu I mentioned. You can click the Opera symbol in the upper-left corner to get to settings and 'almost' everything else.

As for spell checking, you can ADD any dictionary you wish...just highlight any word, right click it, and see the option to add UK English among many.

And Opera STILL has the keyboard shortcuts that I love....(but, which must be specifically enabled.)
