I check the USGS world wide earthquake web site every day. I live near Yellowstone, so I also check to see if there is activity there. Sometimes there are swarms of small earthquakes in Yellowstone.

Geologists say we are only noticing the big ones in the news because they have been close to population areas. Statistically, there is not an increase in earthquake activity overall.
