Also check out the adventures written by H.Ryder Haggard, such as "She" and "King Solomon's Mines", and "The Lost World" by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and "The Jungle Book" by Rudyard Kipling.

Then read a true historical book about the North American Indians by Dee Brown, called "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee", if you are prepared to feel very, very sad.
