Jack Campin--it would thoroughly astonish me if public celebrations of Mother's Day were ever to acknowledge darkness in mothers' behaviour. Maybe it's the Disney effect but in general, pretty stories abound to the exclusion of a full spectrum view of motherhood. At least on this side of the pond.

Mary Waitrovich--Do you or your funders explicitly or subtly prefer to stick to the "nicer" song choices? If, for such a special occasion, you avoid the songs that teach about or lament the painfulness in mothers, I'd like to understand why that is.
