Sonnet 31/03/05                         CMXCIII

Seeing curl upon forehead, I must ask
If you're like girl in rhyme: Are you now good
As looks and smile suggest, or do they mask
Some inner imp? I know not if I should
Try to find out: Do I annoy, with verse?
You do not seem to mind, but let me know
If I should cease, or make greeting more terse.
I seek only to effect on me show.
I do not know how to beauty ignore,
Nor eyes as yours not look to see. I try,
But fail: Only my absence could insure
I would not look at you, and my words ply.
Perhaps it does not matter, but I plead
You do not object to my verses read..
