Sonnet 27/09/05                                        MXXII

Looking for one who might appear, I wait,
Not knowing if she will be here. Her eyes
Might seasons change, but is this waiting wise,
Without reason that she would hopes relate?
Yet, I cannot help but hope it is fate
She will be here tonight, to with bright glance
This evening grace: I must leave hope to chance
That she shares smile, and some of her dreams state.
Alas! Night fades, without her: All I hold
Are dreams and empty glasses. Can I find
Enough moonlight, to future hopes inspire?
The night is warm, but I find star-shine cold,
Not seen mirrored in eyes. Does desire blind
My dreams, and soul, to all but her eyes' fire?
