Recovery these days is also far quicker, patients are usually back on their feet within a day. This avoids problems with immobilisation, DVT etc.

You do seem to be seeing all the possible negatives of the situation. While it is good to be realistic and well-informed before going into a procedure, if you think you are going to have problems, they may be more likely to happen...
