He sings some of the most archetypally miserable Country songs ever.
I should hate it- but the fact is he does it brilliantly, and however sentimental the lyrics, he can make them sound sincere and moving.
I listened to a lot of George Jones a couple of years ago to get the musical feel of his style, because I had been asked to play the Steel Guitar part on a recording of "Hell Stays Open All Night Long".
The songs are very cleverly put together when you look into them, and that title is a wonderful way of telling someone to push off.
