In time heart will not feel the pain, nor seek
To find desires: I will not care if she
Still smiles, or cries. Then, written words might speak,
But voice and heart will ever silent be.
In time, dreams will not try to light refine
To vision of her eyes. All will be dark,
And cold: Death will unravel hope's design,
And of passion will remain not a spark.
In time, desire will fade, and even kiss
Will have no meaning: All that dream now sees
I will not from the grave think I might miss.
There will be then no chance to my muse please.
In time, I will not love: Yet, must I reach
That time before heart will a resting teach?
