Thread Name: Lyr Req/Add: Power (John & Johanna Hall)
Subject: Lyr Add: Power (Renewable Energy)
There is a song that has been sung at "No Nukes" rallies. There is a
group of musicians called MUSE, Musicians United for Safe Energy who
often sing this. (Jackson Brown, Bonnie Raitt, Graham Nash, Jessie Colin Young and others)

Power
by Peter, Paul & Mary
performed by Crosby & Nash
from the Bread & Roses Festival

Just give me the warm power of the sun
Give me the steady flow of a waterfall
Give me the spirit of living things as they return to clay.
Just give me the restless power of the wind
Give me the comforting glow of a wood fire
But please take all of your atomic poison power away.

Everybody needs some power I'm told
To shield them from the darkness and the cold
Some may see a way to take control when it's bought and sold.

I know that lives are at stake
Yours and mine and our descendants in time.
There's so much to gain, so much to lose
Everyone of us has to choose.

Just give me the warm power of the sun
Give me the steady flow of a waterfall
Give me the spirit of living things as they return to clay.
Just give me the restless power of the wind
Give me the comforting glow of a wood fire
But please take all of your atomic poison power away.

Just give me the warm power of the sun
Give me the steady flow of a waterfall
Give me the spirit of living things as they return to clay.
Just give me the restless power of the wind
Give me the comforting glow of a wood fire
But please take all of your atomic poison power away.

Won't you do this for me?
Take all of your atomic poison power
Take all of your atomic poison power
Take all of your atomic poison power
Away.

I found a you tube clip of this song
that attributes it to John Hall (now a congressman)
here he plays it with Pete Seeger

I was thinking about this because:
I saw this amazing site in the Feather River Canyon yesterday...a v-e-r-y---l-o-n-g train carrying what i decided were wind turbine blades...here is a video i found about wind generator transportation.

wish I had taken a video of this long train! Here is a clip :
