My point Kendall was that no matter how anyone feels about any of his decisions on any issues, Truman rightly took his counsel but then made a decision based not on the politics of the thing, but on his own belief in its rightness. He took on both big business and big unions. Truman believed that he always put the people first and to hell with you if you thought otherwise.

In the political climates of this country over the past 50 years, that kind of person is damn near impossible to find....and that includes Obama.   Truman would have kicked Wall Street in the ass and told the insurance companies to go fuck themselves.
