"Were you in Manchester during the debacle that occured between some Scottish club and some Russian club, Shimrod?"

Not sure - I remember some incident involving Scottish football fans smashing up the city centre fairly recently (last year or the year before - I lose track). I saw it on the telly and read about it in the paper. I don't remember anything about Russian fans - but then I do go out of my way to ignore football as much as possible.

What sticks in my mind is some cretinous half-wit from the city council welcoming this match and associated supporters to the city and telling us that it would bring in lots of lovely money (even though it didn't even involve a Manchester team). When these drunken brutes smashed up the city centre and cost the council (correction - us council tax payes!) loads of dosh he wasn't to be seen for dust!
