I dare not seek to guide my muse, but verse
Might show to her what she already knows.
Yet, is my desire blessing, or a curse
That threatens to hide what muse's light shows?
I see my muse upon a unicorn, beyond
All mortal reach. Yet I would follow them,
And seek to know how I might form a bond
With her, though I might only heart condemn.
I seek her smiles, and light within her eye,
Yet do not know how best to please this maid.
I do not know how I might Past untie,
But would not have all hope for future fade.
For all that I might dream, and hope, and pray,
I do not know how I might lover play.
