You are a muse beyond compare, to send
This score of verse. Can I hope to repay
What you have given me? Do you intend
To let me try? I would not have you say
More than you wish, but wish that you might tell
Some portion of your feelings. Shall I plead
For knowledge? Might I know that you are well?
I find that words from you are now a need.
Do I ask too much, to seek to know mind
And something of your heart? Must I remain
At such a distance? I had hoped to find
Some reason Fate has led me out of pain.
I know not how I found you, but I fear
Without your words I will not verses hear.
